Downtown Toyota Uniforms Get a Second Life with Suited to Success

At Downtown Toyota Dealership Brisbane, we believe in driving more than just vehicles, we’re driven by purpose, community, and the power to make meaningful change. That’s why we recently partnered with Suited to Success, a Brisbane-based not-for-profit that helps people overcome barriers to employment through free styling sessions, career coaching, and support programs.

A Uniform Donation That Matters

As part of our internal uniform refresh during the recent rebuild, we saw an opportunity to do something meaningful with our existing uniforms, many of which were still in great condition. The initiative was led by Danica, our Dealership Assistant Accountant, whose personal journey shaped her motivation to give back.

“When I first moved to Brisbane, I realised how expensive it can be just to get yourself interview-ready,” Danica shares. “I was fortunate to have friends and family who supported me, but not everyone has that safety net.”

“So, when Lindsay and I saw the chance to donate our new uniforms, as well as some gently used ones, we didn’t hesitate. We knew they could make a real difference for someone doing it tough.”

What might seem like a simple clothing donation can, for someone preparing for a job interview, be the very thing that boosts their confidence and sets them on a new path.

“We chose to support Suited to Success because they don’t just provide clothes, they give people confidence and a fresh start,” Danica explains. “Their work genuinely changes lives, and it's all powered by community donations. That’s something I’m really proud to be part of.”

Sparking a Culture of Giving

The ripple effect of this initiative didn’t stop there. Lindsay Stewart, our Stock Controller, proposed a way to get even more of the team involved, by encouraging staff to contribute their own pre-loved uniforms.

“I proposed we launch something called Admin Giving Back,” Lindsay says. “It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to contribute by bringing in their gently worn, clean, non-branded uniforms. Together, we could gather these items and donate them to charity, spreading kindness and support to those in need. Let’s make a positive impact in our community!”

Lindsay’s idea sparked a groundswell of generosity across departments, bringing people together with a shared purpose: helping others step into their next opportunity with confidence.

This initiative is just one example of how we aim to give back to the community that supports us. Whether it’s helping someone find their next vehicle, or helping someone else find their next job, Downtown Toyota is committed to creating meaningful impact.
