At Downtown Toyota Dealership Brisbane, we believe in driving more than just vehicles, we’re driven by purpose, community, and the power to make meaningful change. That’s why we recently partnered with Suited to Success, a Brisbane-based not-for-profit that helps people overcome barriers to employment through free styling sessions, career coaching, and support programs.
A Uniform Donation That Matters
As part of our internal uniform refresh during the recent rebuild, we saw an opportunity to do something meaningful with our existing uniforms, many of which were still in great condition. The initiative was led by Danica Law, our Dealership Assistant Accountant and Linsay Stewart, our Stock Controller.
“When I first moved to Brisbane, I realised how expensive it can be just to get yourself interview-ready,” Danica shares. “I was fortunate to have friends and family who supported me, but not everyone has that safety net.”
“So, when Lindsay and I saw the chance to donate our new uniforms, as well as some gently used ones, we didn’t hesitate. We knew they could make a real difference for someone doing it tough.”
What might seem like a simple clothing donation can, for someone preparing for a job interview, be the very thing that boosts their confidence and sets them on a new path.
“We chose to support Suited to Success because they don’t just provide clothes, they give people confidence and a fresh start,” Danica explains. “Their work genuinely changes lives, and it's all powered by community donations. That’s something I’m really proud to be part of.”
Sparking a Culture of Giving
Lindsay proposed launching Admin Giving Back, a new way for staff to contribute their own pre-loved uniforms.
“It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to bring in their gently worn, clean, non-branded uniforms,” Lindsay says. “Together, we could donate these items to charity, spreading kindness and support to those in need. Let’s make a positive impact in our community!”
Her idea built on Danica’s personal connection to the donation organisation, which had already inspired strong interest within the team. With Lindsay’s inclusive approach and Danica’s heartfelt link to the cause, departments across the business came together with a shared purpose: helping others step into their next opportunity with confidence.
Driving Change, Together
This initiative is just one example of how we aim to give back to the community that supports us. Whether it’s helping someone find their next vehicle, or helping someone else find their next job, Downtown Toyota is committed to creating meaningful impact. Because sometimes, giving someone a fresh start begins with something as simple as a shirt.
