At Downtown Toyota, we’re proud to recognise our people who invest in their own growth and help raise the bar for our whole team.

This month, Vicki Baldwin, Assistant Manager of our Service Department, and Wayne Hodgkinson, Manager of our Parts Department, both graduated with their Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, delivered by the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and facilitated by Kerrie Yates.

The program, designed to strengthen leadership capability across Servco-owned Toyota dealerships, is part of a partnership between Servco, the Toyota Training Institute, and AIM. It reflects Toyota’s broader commitment to professional development and leadership excellence across its dealership network.

Through AIM’s delivery, participants gain practical skills in communication, team development, and change leadership — all grounded in the realities of running busy dealership departments. Under Kerrie’s guidance, the program encouraged collaboration and reflection, helping participants build leadership confidence while supporting each other’s learning.

During the graduation ceremony, Bill Parissis, Executive Director of Servco Australia, congratulated the cohort on their hard work and commitment to growth.

“The Certificate IV in Leadership and Management isn’t just about the skills you learn or the subjects you study. It’s about developing your leadership capability and learning to lead teams more effectively while managing the day-to-day challenges that come your way. Everyone who’s completed this course is now better equipped to meet those challenges and continue to grow.”

Bill also highlighted the collaboration that comes from bringing people together across Servco dealerships, describing the program as a way for participants to build long-term connections and share ideas beyond the classroom.

For Vicki and Wayne, the achievement represents more than a qualification. It’s a reflection of their commitment to continual improvement and to living our values of integrity, service, and excellence every day.

At Downtown Toyota, we believe leadership doesn’t stop at the management level. It shows up in the way we learn, support each other, and look for ways to improve. Supporting programs like this is one of the many ways we invest in our people, helping them grow their confidence and capability to lead with purpose.

But growth is just one part of what makes us different. We also believe in making things easy, making them enjoyable, and creating a workplace where people can thrive. Whether it’s training, teamwork, or celebrating milestones, we aim to make every part of the experience meaningful.

Nicole Hamilton, Head of HR at Downtown Toyota, shared her thoughts on what this means for the team:

“We’re really proud of Vicki and Wayne. Investing in development opportunities like the Certificate IV program helps our people step into their potential and strengthen the culture that makes Downtown Toyota unique. Growth is a big part of what we do, but so is creating an environment where learning feels supported, rewarding, and even a bit fun.”

We’re incredibly proud of Vicki Baldwin and Wayne Hodgkinson for their dedication and achievement, and for continuing to set the standard for leadership across our team.

Because we’re different, we’re always looking for ways to help our people grow, lead, and love what they do.
